PREDITORY LENDING PRACTICES

Dear Sir/Madam,

We submitted a letter of complaint to the Comptroller of Currency in August of last year regarding our home mortgage with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. The reason for our first complaint was due to the discrepancy in our monthly statement sent to us by Wells Fargo; it didn’t reflect the agreement we made with in modifying our mortgage. Without any change in our modification agreement from Wells Fargo, we continued to pay the monthly mortgage amount of $1643.56 which began in February of 2010.

Although Wells Fargo received our monthly mortgage payment of $1643.56, they continued to threaten us with foreclosure. In December of 2010, fearful of losing our home, we had to agree (verbally) to allow Wells Fargo to go into our checking account and take several large monthly payments. To make it clear, we did request smaller monthly payments but was denied. Wells Fargo decision to take large funds from our checking account placed an even greater hardship on our family.

Nearly two years later, Wells Fargo has made no effort to amend our first modification agreement to reflect the amount of funds we’ve been paying on a monthly basis. We’re charged an excess of $669.24 each month. As you review our mortgage modification agreement, you’ll notice in a little over three years, our monthly payment will increase in excess of $839.39 if this situation is not rectified.

We request that your office investigate this matter.

Respectfully,

Mr. & Ms Allen G. Jones

Visionary Home Builders is giving a much needed boost to this area. Renovating an already exsisting structure is a good way to conserve resources while helping to give a less than desirable community the opportunity to have a safer, more pleasing environment. I have bookmarked this article to several sites so others will see the positive impact this company wants to have on the lives of others. Keep up the good work.
