Community of All Nations

Community of All Nations is an existing multi-family residential complex of 75 units which Visionary Home Builders is currently rehabilitating.  The rehabilitation includes a new façade, improved site work, new landscaping, and a new community room.  The interiors will contain new energy efficient appliances, new flooring, and new plumbing fixtures.

VHB had originally purchased the property in 2007.  When the property was first purchased,  it was in need of significant repair.  Our original plan was to demolish every building and build 141 units on the massive site.  Unfortunately, due to the economic downturn, we were not able to follow through with the plan.  In 2010, it was decided that instead of demolishing all of the buildings that we would rehabilitate the existing units.  Our hope is that the rehabilitation of the Community of All Nations project will be a catalyst for change in the South Stockton neighborhood.

The 8.95 acre community is located in southeast Stockton at the northeast corner of South D Street and East 8th Street.   The first phase is currently under construction and will be completed at the end of 2011.  The first phase includes the units in the center of the project as well as the community center/manager’s office.   The second phase will start the winter of 2011 and consists of the units located on the northwest corner and eastern border of the project.  Phase two will be completed in September 2012.  Financing for the project has been provided by the City of Stockton, California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, and Union Bank.
