Homebuyer Education
VHB’s Home Ownership Education Center offers home buyer education classes, individual pre-purchase counseling, credit and budget analysis, loan prequalification and loan packaging, information on down payment assistance programs and money management.
Buying a home in today’s market is possible if you set reasonable goals, follow sound advice, develop a plan of action and possess a clear understanding of the process before you purchase your home. When you have completed our program, you will know exactly how much mortgage you are qualified for.
Visionary Home Builders can help you! All of our services are offered in both English and Spanish. Here is how to get started:
Step 1
Register for a VHB Home Buyer’s Education Class. You can download the (Class Registration Form) (Solicitud En Español) here or pick up the form from our office. Fill out the registration, disclosures and authorizations forms prior to attending the class Return them to the office in person, via mail or fax along with the class fee of $35 per person or $50 per couple. Please Make the Money Order payable to Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. Check the website calendar for the next available class.
Step 2
After completing class, make an appointment to meet personally with a housing counselor to discuss your options and develop a plan of action. The housing counselor will help you select the service path that best suits your needs.
Step 3
Execute your plan of action through counseling and exploration of home loans, grants and housing options. Our loan packaging service to our network of reputable lender-partners, along with regular contact between you and your counselor, will ensure the momentum stays strong from the beginning of the process to the day you get the keys to your own home.
Step 4
Request a Certificate of Completion: New Homebuyer or Buyer’s Agent will complete as much information as possible on the certificate request form and present it to your lender. Lenders will complete any remaining information, attach the Good Faith Estimate and Certificate Fee of $50.00 (Money Order) and return it to Visionary Home Builders of California, Inc. (VHB) Homeownership and Rental Center for an approved Certificate of Completion.
